Welcome To My Blog
Welcome to my amazing blog Word Compatibility.
As you may or may not know from my about me page is that I am going to be talking or I should say blogging about my process to becoming bilingual. Just about my whole family is so I figure I should be also. Again to heat the full story please check out my about page.
Anyway I do not want my family to be having full conversations about me right in front of my and me not having the faintest idea of what they are talking about.
I will be sharing stories as I learn the Spanish language and me trying to converse with people in the language. I already have some fun and interesting stories and some rant and raves but the main point I want to get across is how important it is to be bilingual.
Every kid should be bilingual. It will open so many doors for them especially when it comes to job opportunities. My wife is a prime example which I will talk more about in later posts. If you can speak multiple languages you can get a job anywhere especially if you are educated and a good worker.
So exactly what is bilingual education you ask?
According to Wikipedia. It involves teaching academic content in 2 different languages. In the groups native language and some other language.
When students start early in this kind of education they then grow up learning the language and it truly become a second language for them. Plus if someone migrates from one of the countries who’s language they are speaking it really help them to keep pace and continue to learn because they are learning in their native language and learning the native language of where they are living. Really everyone benefits.
I could go on and on about this subject which I will in later posts because the benefits are amazing but their are still so many people that think everyone should only speak english. I will talk more about that in later posts also but I believe the more you know the better so start learning.
Let me what your thoughts are on this subject. For some reason it seems to be a controversial subject here in America.
