Hangers For All Languages

Yes I will admit that this is a rather unusual title.  But stick with me here because it will all make sense in a little bit.

I need some new haters for my posh new apartment and I did not want to go with the boring plastic or cheap wire ones.  So I started to research some cool hangers online and I came across this website http://copperhangers.com

I was amazed that you can actually have some stylish hangers.  I wanted stylish hangers for my apartment because I have an open coat closet wit no doors so that means everyone will be able to see my hangers right when they walk in and I want them to get a great first impression.  And the best way to give them a first impression is with some amazingly stylish hangers that they will see right away and use.

Now you might be asking how the heck does this have anything to do with being bilingual or anything having to do with languages.

Limousine Pickup

Choice Words With A Limo Driver

Yes I had a pretty interesting experience with a limo driver.

My wife and I decided to go to the Oregon Wine country for a day and we decided to do it in style.  I contact a limo company that we found online http://www.salembestlimo.com  The car and company was actually wonderful.  The price was right and they knew exactly where we wanted to go.  They even had a few suggestions for us which ended up being some of the best wineries we visited.

We actually got our list of wineries to go to from Wine Spectator Magazine.  The list was good but the limo company knew of all the hidden up and coming ones.

But I don’t know about you but I have always dreamed of being being around people speaking a different language and having them not know that you can understand everything they are saying.

Bilingual Tow Truck Driver

A Tow On Christmas Eve

As you know from earlier posts I am striving to be bilingual in Spanish.  My wife is and all of my kids are but I am not.  I am striving to be but I am not bilingual yet.  Actually I am not even close,  I am still leaning on my two years of high school Spanish and the only reason I passed is because I sat by some smart people.

Back to the story.  I was traveling with my kids to see my in laws who happen to live in Portland.  My car happened to break down on the highway and I was able to pull over on the side of the highway.  But here I was with my car broken down on the side of the highway with all of my kids and it happened to be Christmas Eve.  With it being Christmas Eve their were not very many tow truck companies open but I happened to find one and it was http://towtruckportland.com.

Bilingual SEO In Portland

As you already know I am very pro anybody being bilingual and if you are against it you are a dinosaur.  As I have been preaching if you are bilingual in America you can get almost any job you want.

But my new revelation is still the above but if you want to be an entrepreneur and are bilingual then you have just immediately increased your potential customers.  Now the hot industry right now is digital marketing and especially SEO.  My friend who has a whole family that is bilingual has a SEO company http://portlandseonow.com and I have been bugging him like crazy to go after hispanic businesses because they need his services.  The hispanic community in Oregon is huge and it is growing fast.

On The Job

You have to be kidding me.

My cousin owns a pretty successful roofing business and as you can imagine they have quite a few of hispanic workers.  And my cousin does not speak a word of Spanish.

So he was sitting complaining about how he has no idea what his workers are doing and talking about.  So my wife spoke up and volunteered me (with pay of course) to act as a supervisor and communicate with them.  Of course I was nervous and can be.

I did take 2 years of Spanish in high school but I happened to sit next to some really smart people but I did pick up some words here and there.  I also traveled to deep Mexico with my wife to visit the family she stayed with for a semester who happened to speak no English at all and a lot of guys that used to work for me in a warehouse spoke a lot of Spanish also.  So I actually picked up a lot of Spanish without me even knowing it.

So I swallowed the bullet and took the job.
